Program that Internationalizes Startups in the Ranking of the Leading Open Innovation Platform in Latin America

The startup internationalization program of StartOut Brasil has been included in the list of the most important international platform for connecting companies and startups, 100 Open Startups, as one of the 10 major players in the startup ecosystem innovation in the country.
The announcement was made this Tuesday (8), in São Paulo. Among the 25 best startups in the ecosystem, StartOut Brasil ranked eighth among the companies that contributed the most to the journey of companies awarded by the platform in 2022.
Of the 300 startups ranked as the most attractive to the market, 36 indicated StartOut Brazil as an Ecosystem One is linked, of which at least 19 have already been directly submitted by the program. They were all in the top 10 of their category.
“For us at Sebrae, this is a recognition of the startup ecosystem, which shows that the program has delivered and generated value in these five years since its inception, as it has already connected more of 220 startups in more than 13 overseas ecosystems, generating more than $24 million in revenue,” said Sebrae President Carlos Melis.
Since 2016, 100 Open Startups annually rank and reward all the players involved in the country’s innovation ecosystem. This year, based on data collected over the past 12 months, the platform has identified 608 agents in the ecosystem, taking into account the number of startups and award-winning companies that have indicated and recognized the contribution of these actors in their momentum. The platform has also identified 300 startups and 250 companies to compete in its categories.
100 Open Startups is Latin America’s leading open innovation platform, whose mission is to transform the market and society based on innovation through collaboration between companies and startups.
Again, our survey indicates the importance of the direct contribution of one or more players in the ecosystem to the development of startups. According to the data, 35% recognize this contribution, which rises to 87% among the top 10 startups in the 30 ranking categories, 100 Startups open for 2022,” said Bruno Rondani, CEO of the platform.
Among the award-winning startups that have already participated in StartOut Brasil, two of them won first place in their category. Startup Pix Force, from Rio Grande do Sul, was a leader in the AI category. The company participated in the Boston and New York tournaments and will also participate in the next tournament, which will be held in Chicago. NVoip, from Minas Gerais, ranked first in the customer service category.
The startup participated in a course in Santiago, Chile, which the program organized in the first half of this year. The startups selected by the TOP 100 ranking that have already participated in StartOut Brasil were among the top 10 companies in the categories AgroTech, Big Data, BioTech, CleanTech, Costumer Service, Edtech, Energy, Fintech, HRtechs Recruitment, HealthTech and Artificial Intelligence.
StartOut Brasil was created in 2017 by Sebrae in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, ApexBrasil and the National Association of Entities that Promote Innovative Projects (Anprotec).
The program helps to include Brazilian startups in the most promising innovation ecosystem in the world, promoting training procedures and business roundtables with important players in this ecosystem in different countries, in an online format and face to face.
Over the past five years, the program has generated more than $24 million in revenue and implemented 13 courses in nine countries, including the United States, France, Germany, Chile, Colombia, China, Portugal, Canada and Argentina. Later this month, another edition of the program will take place in Chicago, USA, where 15 startups will participate in various activities aimed at the internationalization process.
Change of Identity
After five years of working to internationalize Brazilian startups around the world under the name StartOut Brasil, from 2023 the program will be called Startup OuReach Brasil. The identity changes, but the program proposal will remain the same. Next year’s agenda already has a schedule set and registration for the next session, to be held in the first half of the year in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain, is already open.
